The Magic Bank Account

A creative way to look at something of value to all of us………time. I have not researched this in depth to know if its source is true. But regardless of where it came from, the story rings true so I take a few  seconds and pass it on to you. 🙂 The Magic Bank Account Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules: The set of rules: 1 – Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you. 2 – You may not simply transfer money into some other account. 3 – You may only spend it. 4 – Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day. 5 – The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say,“Game Over!”. It can close the account and you will not receive a new one. What would you personally do? You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right? You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the...

Happy Independence Day!

Independence – My handy dandy computer dictionary defines independence as follows: “freedom from control: freedom from dependence on or control by another person, organization, or state,” One of the greatest discoveries in my life has been the discovery that I truly am, and each one of us truly is, Independent. We are free from the control of another because How We Respond to what Another Says or Does is Forever under our control. What another says or does fundamentally has NOTHING  to do with us. It is simply what they are creating at any given moment it time, and it is always very creative. How we independently choose to RESPOND to what another says or does has EVERYINGto do with us. When we choose to RESPOND  NEGATIVELY to what they say or do, if we independently choose to give it a NEGATIVE meaning, we instantly have a NEGATIVE effect on ourselves.  We get to suffer from our own created negativity. This, in my mind, is not smart. When we choose to respond POSITIVELY to what they say or do, when we independently choose to give it a POSITIVE meaning, (What a nice job they did of flipping me off – nicely done), we have a POSITIVE effect on ourselves.  This, in my mind, is smart. What a wonderful discovery it is to see that we truly are independent...

Today, kale varieties may be differentiated by the low, intermediate or high length of stem with varying leaf types. During WWII, kale cultivation was encouraged because it was easy to grow and a great supplement to the normal diet due to rationing. Healthy stuff!!

The Declaration of Independence
